Amy He
Founder and President
Amy, a senior, is ranked first and has a 5.0 GPA at Bellaire High School. She scored 5/5 on all 11 of her AP exams, and she has earned perfect scores on both PSAT and SAT math sections. Amy qualified for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) thrice and serves as the President of her school's Math Club. She has also attended the selective Honors Summer Math Camp and pursues research in Combinatorics and encryption and compression. In 2022, Amy worked for two weeks as a counselor at Junior Summer Math Camp Residential. Amy is a USACO Silver programmer as well as an NCWIT Award Winner in the Houston affiliate. In debate, Amy has, as a freshman and sophomore, qualified to the Tournament of Champions, the NSDA national tournament, and the Texas state tournament. At school, Amy serves as a President of Student Council and the President of the Future Problem Solvers Club; in 2021, she led the Future Problem Solvers to international championship in Community Problem Solving with "Project Yes Learn!" Besides tutoring, Amy loves cycling, skiing, and watching comedy.

Annelise Do
Tutor
Annelise is a junior at Bellaire High School; she has taken advanced courses such as Pre-AP Precalculus. She is part of the executive board for both Bellaire's literary magazine (the Maple Street Journal) and the Robotics Club. Additionally, Annelise is extremely passionate about business and music, competing on state and national levels, along with social equality. She is extremely experienced in standardized testing, receiving stanines of 9 (highest percentiles) on all sections of her Upper Level ISEE. In her free time, Annelise enjoys reading, bullet journaling, and playing Identity V.

Margaret He​
Vice President
Margaret is a senior at the Emery/Weiner School. One of her favorite subjects is math, having had experience in Math Olympiad and MathCounts competitions previously. She is also enthusiastic for linguistics, with ten years’ experience of learning Chinese. During this time, Margaret has received creative writing awards for her short stories. In addition, she has been learning Hebrew for the past five years and continues to do so. Outside of tutoring, Margaret plays basketball and instrumental music, partakes in theatre, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Varun Manickam​
President
Varun Manickam is a junior at Bellaire, enrolled in the IB program, taking the highest level courses and learning French. Varun has been competing in Public Forum debate and impromptu speaking events since 6th grade, advancing to elimination rounds in Public Forum at every tournament he has competed in. Varun also fences for club Salle Mauro and learns the violin (in classical Western for 3 years and classical Indian for 7 years). He is a big sports fanatic too. Varun has also been involved with numerous political events, constantly learning about different policies and candidates in America and foreign policy. He is very interested in pursuing a Political Science major and a Law degree in the future. Varun has previously won reading awards and advanced to the HoustonPBS Spelling Bee in 2017. During his free time, he loves watching Netflix, listening to a wide variety of rap pop and classical, and playing Xbox.

Irene Zheng
Tutor
Irene is a junior at Bellaire High School and has been taking advanced courses since middle school. She's part of Bellaire's newspaper, the Three Penny Press, and on the leadership team of Bellaire's student published magazine, The Maple Street Journal. She has been learning Chinese for over 10 years and has won multiple awards in Chinese speech and writing contests. Irene volunteers with the Houston Museum of Natural Science and has worked with kids of all ages. In her free time, Irene enjoys dancing, reading, and watching Youtube.
Guanshu Liu (Annie)
President
Guanshu Liu, also known as Annie, is a senior at the Emery/Weiner School. She earned all A’s in all highest-level courses at Pin Oak Middle School. She is multilingual and fluent in Chinese, German, and Danish; she is currently learning Hebrew. Annie enjoys volunteering and has been doing it for many years. Also, she joined the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Her favorite subject is Math and Language. She is very interested in teaching Math (Kindergarten through 8th-grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry) and Chinese (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). Annie’s hobbies are drawing, listening to music, swimming, and traveling.

Kalina Peneva
Tutor
Kalina Peneva is a senior at Bellaire High School. She has done debate and public speaking events since the 6th grade, consistently making it to elimination rounds and qualifying for middle school nationals two years in a row. In middle school she took the most advanced math classes available, learning Algebra I (a class designated to be taken in 9th grade) in 7th grade and advancing on towards geometry in 8th grade. She has experience in working with kids of all ages and is ready to help your child succeed!

Lucy Ma
Tutor
Lucy is a senior at Bellaire High School. She debated throughout middle school and is now in her second year of high school varsity debate. In addition, she is an editor for the Bellaire Yearbook; she interviews students and staff and to write attention-grabbing accounts. Lucy is currently in her fourth year of learning German and is ranked at the top of her class having earn a gold medal in the National German Exam, She also competed in the annual German competition in Houston and won first in three out of her four events, qualifying for the state German competition, where she placed in the top five in all of her events. Lucy volunteers at the Houston Zoo as a member of Zoo Crew, a program that has a rigorous application process. She is a Naturalist, running various stations and interacting with zoo guests to teach about wildlife conservation. In her free time, she enjoys listening to various genres of music and baking with her mom.

Emerald Tang
Tutor
Emerald Tang is a tenth grader at Bellaire. She started public speaking in the fourth grade and has been competing at debate tournaments starting in sixth grade. In elementary school, she participated in multiple speech events, coming at the top of district championships each time. Since then, she has also competed in oratory and Public Forum debate, gaining a decent amount of success in both events and qualifying for middle school nationals for two consecutive years. She enjoys communicating with people of all ages and is always happy to be able to teach people new skills!
